What Unitree R1 and G1 robots cost

Listed Unitree R1 and G1 prices, development access and the extra costs to include in a hardware quote.

Research edition · Sources are linked beside the claims.

Three prices, three configurations

A price comparison needs a model name and a configuration. Unitree lists the R1 Air at $4,900 and the standard R1 at $5,900. The Air has 20 joint degrees of freedom; the standard version has 26. Both prices exclude tax and shipping. These are the manufacturer's public figures checked on 8 October 2026. [1]

Software access changes the purchase

A lower hardware price does not establish access to custom joint control. Unitree's G1 store says its listed non-EDU product does not support secondary development and directs developers to EDU. On the R1 page, broad introductory wording about open interfaces sits above a table that assigns secondary development to EDU. Obtain a written statement covering the exact version before paying for a research platform. [3] [1]

Describe the intended work in the request for quotation. A class that uses supplied motions needs a different package from a laboratory collecting hand-camera data or running its own balance controller. Ask which sensor streams, command modes, sample programs and simulator models are included. A product name alone leaves these questions unanswered.

Build a delivered-cost quote

The G1 store lists $300 to $1,200 for shipping. Added to the $13,500 base hardware listing, that gives a subtotal of $13,800 to $14,700 before duties, taxes, import handling or selected extras. This is arithmetic from the public listing. Delivery details and the amount charged for your address still require a quote. [3]

  • List every selected hand, wrist, compute module and sensor option on the invoice.
  • Specify the battery and charger supplied, plus any spare packs.
  • Request freight, insurance, import handling and local tax as separate lines.
  • Record delivery timing, warranty territory and the party responsible for return transport.
  • Price training, fixtures and replacement parts required by the planned tasks.

Measure the work you are buying

For a laboratory, the useful output may be hours of recorded control data. For a warehouse, it may be successful transfers between two bins. Define that output before calculating operating cost. Include setup time, supervision, failed attempts, recovery and charging in the trial record. A purchase price divided by theoretical operating hours hides most of the work around the machine.

Keep the dated offer and configuration sheet together, and recheck both before placing an order.
